Led by Ohio-born Johnny Paris, Johnny and the Hurricanes were one of the US groups to make a mark in the pre-Beatles Britain. Listening to the great 45s compiled on this set it's clear that, when rock history lists the all-time greatest instrumental groups, then Johnny and the Hurricanes will be up there alongside the Shadows, Ventures and Tornados.
