60 Seasons

60 Seasons

Turner Cody writes songs with tunnes to hum and lyrics to remember the rest of your life. Drawing on folk, country, blues, and old time boogy woogy, his music evokes live textures and a timeless feel. Turner Cody lives in New York City where he began his career as the fabled Sidewalk Cafe. Although his only commercial release so far has been a song on the compilation "Antifolk Vol.1" released by Rough Trade in 2002, he have self-released 8 long play albums available through his mailorder only. "60 Seasons" compiles some of those songs between 2000 - 2005. He has toured Europe with Ish Marquez and as the support act for Herman Dune, with whom he has a worked closely since 2003, on stage being also their bass player. When he is not writing and recording, Cody dances to klezmer music at Williamsburg's Hassid meets Hipster, which he helped found in 2004, and spins records with Adam Green in the East Village.
