The record features a sound that is unmistakably modern yet steeped in early crunk, r&b, and classical music. "Shadows", the stadium-shaking first track, starts off the EP with a bang of orchestral crescendos and blasting horns that leads into "Like That", which transports you into a dark cave of creeping bass and haunting vocals. This ode to mid-2000's club rap takes half-step footwork vibes, screws them down and goes straight for the jugular. Thunderclap anthem "Crystal Dust" effortlessly transitions in and out of euphoric bliss, before bringing out the tubas, dropping the bass and diving head-first into the fray, leading to "The Ballad of Martyn Bootyspoon" which adds a splash of humor, reviving the magic of the infamous skits that are prominent in rap albums. "Crimson Tides" is an energetic horn-laden rhythm of celebration, featuring offbeat breaks and provocative ad-libs while "Crusade" is a night-perfect slice of electronic wonder. Sinjin Hawke matches brass with thunderous bass and the result is the soundtrack to a Renaissance-era knife fight. "Love is On Your Side" serves as the emotional relief near the end of the EP, featuring ephemeral vocals and weeping synthetic strings as the core elements. To cap it all off, the record serenades into bliss with "Outro", an uplifting orchestration of strings and thick piano that leaves a feeling of satisfaction and closure.
