Ecliptyka started its activities in 2002 with Gui Bollini (guitars and scream vocals), Tiago Catalá (drums) and Helena Martins (vocals), at first as a project that grew over the years and was consolidated when Eric Zambonini (bass) and Hélio Valisc (guitars and vocals) joined the band. The current line-up has been together since 2009.

Between 2002 and 2009, the band gained a lot of respect and recognition on the Brazilian metal scene, specially around the metropolitan Sao Paulo area. In 2007, Ecliptyka released an EP called "The First Petal Falls" (indepedent) containing 5 songs which shows a more melodic/prog metal oriented band. The band gained the public's attention with this work and, thanks to that, it performed as an open act for several important bands in the brazilian metal scene (Tuatha de Danann, Dr. Sin, Mindflow etc), played in some festivals and in several venues in Brazil.

This work gave the band a lot of feedback and the opportunity to do an European tour in 2009. Ecliptyka played in Germ
