Funk D maintains his momentum with his latest offering on Smash The House offshoot Generation Smash, ‘Thrivin’, showing his dancefloor oriented side with a club-focused single that showcases Funk D’s dynamic ability to turn his hand to a flexible array of sounds. Funk D has built an impressive catalogue of music in recent times, including an official remix of Lost Frequencies huge single ‘Are You With Me’, and most recently appeared on Generation Smash in December with ‘You’, and his latest offering is a welcome addition to an ever-growing body of work.

The sidechained vocal stab pushes things forward from the start, joined by a breakbeat loop in the breakdown that indicates a number of influences which join together seamlessly. The main vocal ramps up the intensity before the drop, where a growling bassline is introduced that squelches and rises intermittently, placing ‘Thrivin’ firmly in club banger territory.

Funk D has consistently moved forward throughout his career with a solid foundation of strong releases which have seen him come to the attention of dance music’s elite, and can count the likes of label bosses Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike as supportets, and ‘Thrivin’ is set to further increase that list of dance music heavyweights.
