2014 has been a great year so far for Upon. You co-founder Marco Resmann so far with DJ-sets all over the place, a highly-praised rework for Vince Watson and a full-on solo EP on Steve Bug's Poker Flat both rocking crowds to critical acclaim whilst his very own label Upon. You is firing from all cylinders. Plus: there's a lucky bag of new and exciting things to come within the next months.
This said it seems to be the perfect point in time to unveil „05:27“ - Mr. Resmann's new and upcoming 12“ on Upon. You featuring three tracks subtly dedicated to a loved one and aptly crafted to maximum effect.
Things start on a clean, techy and well-hypnotic level with the sparse, skeletal opening tune „Spider Web“ which gives way to an ever evolving, steadily morphing sci-fi synth motif from the very start, continously creeping like lava on top of the tracks backbone built of dry bassdrums and quivering hihats steadily creating an ever growing tension with only a few iridiscent breaks providing ecstatic relief for heaving crowds on the floor.
With „Time Factor“ Mr. Resmann even manages to increase dancefloor pressure by speeding up things and introducing a raw, bass heavy House feel that's reminiscent of the pounding, hollow club sound experience every punter knows – a tickling, thrilling, spine-tingling heartbeat, a steady boom boom boom percolating through every venues walls and doors, announcing a great night out that's only a few steps away. Combining this adrenaline rushing vibe with a dense, athmospheric feel and ever swelling, spiralling synth pieces contrasted by innocent, frolicking melodies is what makes „Time Factor“ a perfect late night jam for very special nightlife moments words cannot properly describe. Call it a future classic for those who know.
