Way Out East
Berlin based production duo Re.decay announces the release of their debut album “Way Out East,” the first release on the duo’s new label, ‘RDK Records’. It is by far the duo’s most ambitious project to date, featuring 15 artists from 8 different countries and 3 continents. As is typical for Re.decay (Emanuel Bender and Owen Ross) the project marries a wide range of genres. Afro-infused grooves, raw hip hop, soulful house, and smooth R&B all coalesce in the gritty, ethereal textures and tone that permeate their catalog. Ross and Bender display influences from a wide range of musicians like Anderson .Paak, Mac Miller, GuiltyBeatz, Dr Dre, Hitboy, Little Dragon, Amaaree, Kendrick Lamar and Madlib, yet ultimately, Re.decay’s voice is unmistakably their own.
Since their debut EP “Down Long Enough,” the duo has generated a steady output of production including the Afirma nominated “In Her Feelings” EP by Cameroonian/German artist T’neeya. In addition, the pair has collaborated with Austro-Turkish rap duo Esrap, Belgian singer K.Zia (unreleased), Ghanian rapper Zotto (unreleased), and Canadian-Korean multi instrumentalist K. Marie Kim.
