Marina Tarasova, whose recent recording of Weinberg's cello music for Northern Flowers, drew great praise from critics, including MusicWeb's Rob Barnett, who wrote, "She is as well recognized in Russian cello works as Raphael Wallfisch in most of the instrument’s other repertoire." Her newest recording brings together the Cello Sonatas (solo and with piano) by Alexander Tcherepnin, the Saint-Petersburg-born composer who fled the Soviet Union after the revolution and settled in Paris.
