The artist that you see is Ricardo Vega, but on the streets of Kansas City he is well-known as Rico Ricardo. Music was a release for Rico. Music was his escape from reality, but he always felt the need to speak on his reality through music. Music literally saved his life.
Life has not always been easy for Rico. Growing up in a single-parent home, and not really being close to his father, Rico turned to the streets for guidance. It was sometimes rough and stressful at the same time. Rico often felt like an outcast and alone and the way he dealt with his frustration was he wrote. He wrote poetry, songs, he wrote about anything to ease his mind. Hip Hop is what brought him through. He took his reality, added a beat and melody to it and it became truth for all ears to hear.
