Opening with „Save The Night“ for an intro the Berlin-based producer weighs in a clear message, repeated over and over again by various warped and twisted voices backed by soft, organic and somewhat dubbed out 4/4 foundation providing us with a memory of what once used to be.
The title cut „Past / Future“ featuring vocalist Tony Philips draws inspiration from both deepest DubTechno realms and track'ish, raw and ever filtered (Deep)House rhythm signatures for extended late night sessions whilst paying homage to the long, ever meandering tracks and structures filed under the flag of Intelligent Techno back in the days. „Nevertheless“ sees Marco Resmann shifting gears to reach full on dancefloor mode, once again amalgamating a driving, yet stripped down and expertly filtered uptempo TechHouse vibe with a wide variety of DubTechno-leaning elements whilst opening up large scale realms with the tunes' beautifully hypnotic main synth line.Riding the „Wave“ Marco Resmann explores a highly futuristic Sci-Fi Ambient realm of cold, score'esque qualities, fusing the vastness of deep space with warped modular bleeps and echoes of echoes of the Berlin School / ProtoAmbient movement with its histroy harking way back to the 70s even.„Lost In Space“ is an excursion into the grey area bordering Broken Techno, Electro, Post-Dubstep and various incarnations of Bass Music in general, all glued together by a highly seductive swing, mutated scratches and raw, overwhelming vintage bass waves which turn this one into a timeless future classic within seconds. The subsequent „Exit“ follows with even more swirling raw vintage bass greatness, backed by a seductive TechHouse groove, ever tweaked high frequency feedbacks and beautiful harmonies, all leading towards a lively, captiving main motif ready to take, at this time: imaginery, dancefloors by storm in combination with the tunes Trance-influenced string and pad sections. Finally „Belief“ embarks on a journey towards a faint, yet existing silver lining at the horizon ........
