Though long rumored to be a side project of Plaid, CiM is, in fact, the output of one Simon Walley, whose specialization is in conjuring the spirits of Warp's influential Artificial Intelligence series through softening digitized percussion with tender, melodic constructs and the occasional rush of warm synth orchestration. The 22 tracks, though often short, many weighing in at a little under three minutes, are all perfectly understated and amount en masse to a near-perfect album of glacial techno.
