Signed to EMI Australia in late 2011, with one previous self-titled album (Universal), Sam's debut single "Black and Gold", landed in the top 20 in 14 countries and peaked at # 2 on the UK singles chart. It spent 13 weeks in the top 10 selling 650k copies while the debut album peaked at #4 and went on to sell 150k. He is now back with is 2nd studio album 'Return To Paradise'. Influenced by the sounds of late 70s / early 80s New York Garage disco / funk, the album is a play on nostalgia and "paradise garage" - a genre derived from the hedonistic discoteque scene in New York in the late 70s that began in a parking lot giving rise to the term "garage" famous for its unique and eclectic style of discso and dance music. The album has been produced with long time collaborator Jesse Rogg. Sam Sparro is all about chic, credible cool, coasting a fine line between disarmingly earnest and aspirational style. He has become known not only for his distinct, scale-defying vocals and epic live shows, but also as a visual artist and style icon. He is as musically diverse as he is creatively talented, inspired by Jean-Paul Goode and Andy Warhol as much as he is Prince and James Murphy. Sam's effortless authentic style along with his distinct and captivating personality should be at the forefront of the campaign.
