Stay Hungry was recorded in a bedroom with one microphone and barely enough room for all the equipment needed. To get into bed, you had to scooch a keyboard stand a foot to the left. It is heavily inspired by blues roots rockers like Jack White, Dan Auerbach, and classic blues rock artists like Stevie Ray Vaughan, and also takes ideas from Contemporary Indie Rock bands like The Strokes, and the Arctic Monkeys. Stay Hungry is a diverse musical ode to poor musicians trying to make a living off their passion, and to all of those musicians who work other jobs that they hate to make ends meet, and to finance their music. It's a rallying cry to the working class to never give up on what keeps their lives passionate, and to never accept a life of comfort and mediocrity over a life of suffering for what is most authentic to them.
