Mandla Jubane also known as Emjay was born on the 26th of February 1986. He was born in Bulawayo Zimbabwe. He has four siblings, one brother and three sisters. Music has always been a part of his life since childhood. As a child, he used to sing in a church choir. His late father was an evangelist. Mandla did his primary education in a small town called Gokwe in Midlands province. He went on to do his higher education in Matabeleland North province. He started writing songs seriously during his high school days. He wrote songs for the church youths and other songs that were not particularly gospel. This came naturally and therefore he did not consider it a special gift. He has written songs since that time. As much as he can write songs for any occasion and any genre, he specializes in hip hop.
His love for music became more pronounced in 2006 when he recorded a nine track album. He
