For our next instalment, Upon You co-founder Marco Resmann teams up with up-and-coming Jordanian outfit, Fairplay. Having previously released on the likes of Stil vor Talent and BAR 25, the duo makes its first incursion on the label with a steam-powered jazztronics roller that conjures up the finest elements of loungey bop and dubbed-out techno. Bearing the clear aesthetic stamp of both Resmann's inch-perfectly engineered blend of deep, immersive ambience and bespoke groove, as much as it showcases Fairplay's ever-soulful strain of polyamorous rhythms and motifs -- tapping into cutting-edge house music potentialities, pure Cotton Club vibes and Arabic folk in equal measure, 'Like It Is' is hybrid boogie at its most instrumentally lush and captivatingly cinematic.

Draped in a film noir kind of atmosphere where the ghosts of Bogart and Bacall would obviously not feel out of place, the track has us swirling and jiving to a sensuously metronomic swing, languidly elevating from behind thick curtains of cigarette smoke and volutes of body heat emanations, as a solid bassy groove summons all dancers to the dance-floor imminently. Tweaking the original into a vocal disco churner, Fuad and Marco treat us to a blazing mini Moog-operated workout, stressing on the track's floor-ready potential and its Sino-flavoured strings' uplift. Moving at train-like rate, this one is the epitome of a transporting number, clearly designed to have you crossing dimensions with every bar and losing yourself across its labyrinthine puzzle of heavily filtered and tape echo'ed machine funk.
