
Lost in the Garden of Delay
"Lost in the Garden of Delay" is a collection of David Barnes' solo compositions from 2007-2009, and includes his greatest work from that period. Like his other recent solo albums, the most noticeable influences are early Pink Floyd and Brian Eno. But some of it does not fall into either of those camps. These are all strictly instrumental compositions, with unusual combinations of instruments and alternative playing techniques. Barnes plays all instruments tracks. Hammer Dulcimer Octet - This piece is layered with 8 Hammer dulcimer tracks. The instrumentation makes it harder to hear the influences listed above, but it is still pretty psychedelic for Hammer dulcimer music.
Darkness - This is one of Barnes' greatest masterpieces. The subtlety in the blend of instruments sounds (chainsaws turned into a chordal instrument, Hammond organ, frogs, reong (gamelan percussion), electric and acoustic guitars has a very visual psychedelic feel to it. The structure of the pi
