Solid Ground
My music is a combination of many influences through the years. I will mention some people who have directly or indirectly influenced the album: Sonny Terry, Ramsey Lewis, The Eagles, Crosby Stills and Nash, Paul Jones, Sam and Dave, Joe Walsh, Mick Avory, Pete Quafe, Jose Feliciano, Harry Webb, Asylum Records, and Stax Records.
All the songs on 'Solid Ground' are original, and for April Wine fans, the version of 'I'm On Fire For You Baby' on this album was the one April Wine heard that they cut their version from. 'Fire' was recorded in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, using the Swampers. The rest of the album was recorded at Phonogram Studios in London, England using Chris Karan (drummer for Dudley Moore), and John Perry (of the Apple Records' band Grapefruit, and backup singer for Cliff Richard) on bass guitar.
