The Architects was written and recorded over the course of about two weeks in October 2013. Andrew Thomas Espinola ("Thomas") and Timothy Scott Stone ("Timothy") recorded and mixed the entire album in the spare bedroom of Scott Stone's two-bedroom Austin apartment. The concept for the album was originated by Scott from a lyric Andrew improvised over the title track and lynchpin song of the album. The Architects showcases the diversity and distinctive style of Thomas & Timothy, from the blistering opening track, "Be My Skyscraper" to the album closer, and heavily orchestrated, "Change." After working and recording together for 7 years, Andrew and Scott finally finished the album they had always hoped to make.
