Felix Culpa
I grew up playing Bluegrass and Country music with my family, and then moved to playing hard rock and punk rock with my friends as a teen. In college I played guitar in a jazz band, drums in a marching band and sang in two choirs.
I am old enough to remember trying to record music with a friend's guitar plugged into the left side of a recorder, and my own guitar plugged into the right side.
As an adult I have become fascinated with the vast array of sounds available in electronic music, and ways I can use it to express ideas and moods. As a matter of principle, though it may not be obvious, most tracks include at least one real instrument I have played and recorded -- it could be bass or electric guitar, a recorder flute, a tin can or even an accordion!
It is easiest to sell anything if you can put it in a very specific category, because people know what they like and will typically search for music in categories that they know they like. It would be nice if I could put all of my music in one category, but I can't.
Most of my electronic music has a distinct 80's and 90's vibe. Moods range from dark and gothic to melancholy and even uplifting dance numbers. Every so often, I deviate from the flow and do something with all real instruments that I play myself. This latter type of music tends toward a jazz-rock genre.
