If You Want One... Take 2
Our "blow by blow" description of each track on "If You Want One...Take 2":
Miraculous Sign is the opener, and has a laid back yet funky groove, reminiscent (in our minds anyway) of Earl Klugh if he were to go in a more pop direction with a vocalist. Take 2's Kate Szejnmann delivers some irresistible harmonies on this one.
You Think You've Got Me Where You Want Me has a slinky blues / soul vibe, with B.B. King styles guitar licks, backed up my a latin style percussion section.
The Old Man's Dead is pure showbiz / vaudeville style, a guitar lick reminiscent of the late great Chet Atkins.
Kung Fu Mama continues in the vaudevillian style, with a strong acoustic sound, and a tale of domestic disharmony.
Got to Know is Take 2's take on the funk, with some gritty / earthy guitar, and a powerful vocal performance from Kate.
Technological Blues showcases the the harmonica talents of P.J. Baker, interwoven with Simon's SRVesque guitar lines.
When We Fight is a ballad lamenting the troubles encountered by domestic quarrels of couples the whole world over. Kate delivers an achingly beautiful vocal rendering. One for the sensitive souls out there!
Never More boasts shimmering guitars, and the sublime tenor sax talents of Leicester's Tony Looby, and a confessional vocal from Kate.
Baby What's Wrong closes the album with a simple acoustic guitar, and gorgeous vocal harmonies from Kate.
