Blues Fiddle
John Christian's first instrument was the violin,
which he played from 4rth grade up into the high
school years. Switching to the bass guitar,
then the six string. Ever since 9th grade John
has played in bands. He has been in Rock and roll
bands, country bands, variety bands, blues bands.
This c.d. represents the musical journey John
went on as he was learning to play the blues violin.
A little raw in places, but very unique
in it's scope. I think violin players will enjoy
this c.d. as they contemplate the possibilities of
the blues violin style, also blues lovers in
general will enjoy this, as it is different from
the usual instrumentation of the blues. The violin
takes over the role of the blues guitar, and bends
your expectations of what the blues is supposed to
sound like.
For example, the violin has a sweetness, as compared
to the gutsiness of a guitar.
Proceeds from this c.d. go to an actual living,
creative human being that plans on investing in
further explorations of this style,
