Floatin' to the Bottom (Explicit)

Mudd's first and only album, "Floatin' to the Bottom," is ripe with angst-ridden lyrics, crunching guitars, and a solid rhythm section. Formed in Mercer, Pennsylvania in 1997, the group consisted of Matt Mitchell on vocals, Casey Reardon on guitar, Eric Mudrak on drums, and Shawn Snyder on bass. After a few practices, the four high school friends took their punk/grunge-influenced garage rock to the basement and began writing their debut album.

"Floatin' to the Bottom" was recorded in two days at Mud-Hut Studios in Sharon, PA with owner, Bill Dodd, as sound engineer and producer. Mudd was completely independent in the groundwork of the album release. It's impressive that four teenagers created the album art, sought publicity through performances and newspapers, and had the album professionally manufactured on CD. An official New World Records album review boasted: "The slighly punk flavored songs will hook you right away and the smooth vocals top it all off. Drivin' grooves, hot riffs, and cool melodies."
