These Walls Hold Nothing but the Death of All That We Hold Dear (Explicit)

Twin Planets are an alternative rock band from Ormskirk, Lancashire formed in 2010. The band is based in Liverpool and comprises of James Rookyard (vocals & guitar), Richard Taylor (guitar), Rob Gladding (bass) and Peter Jones (drums).

The band released a self-titled EP in 2012 via 46 Records, several singles over 2013-2014 and are due to release their debut album ‘These Walls Hold Nothing But The Death Of All That We Hold Dear’ in April 2015.

The debut album showcases a new direction for the band, straying away from the synth-driven self-titled EP and focusing more on textural guitars, heavier riffs and rhythmic variation.

The band met in 2010 and realising they shared similar ambitions and influences, they formed a band. Following this, they began frequenting the gigging in circuit in the North West, including Liverpool, Manchester and Leeds whilst continuing to write and record. In late 2011, the band were approached by production team Sugar House Music and they began working on their self-titled EP. As the band’s first release it generated them favourable reviews, increased the fan base and was a platform for the band to obtain further opportunities. These included appearing and performing on an episode of C4’s Hollyoaks and securing a place on ‘Taste Masters 3’, a compilation album assembled and released by Manchester label, The Laboratory Project.

Whilst continuing to gig regularly, it was in the Spring of 2012 that the band started to work in the studio, again with Sugar House Music, on material for what would become their debut album. Also during this time, the band secured a monthly residency slot in their hometown of Ormskirk and began to attract a following from the student population of Edge Hill University. In the following months, the band were in the studio constantly, shot their first video for what would become their next single and played a sell-out gig at The Roadhouse in Manchester opening for Mumiy Troll and Echotape. In January 2013, the band released a double a-side single ‘Empires/Divisions’ again via 46 records, taken from the forthcoming album which was accompanied by a video. In April 2013, the band embarked on a nationwide 9-date UK tour and this was accompanied also by another promotional video for album track ‘Forces’ which was featured on The Laboratory Project’s ‘Taste Masters 4’ compilation album. Following a short break from gigging after the tour, the band performed their debut album in its entirety for two gigs, one in Liverpool’s Lomax and one in Manchester’s Castle Hotel, followed by a 5-date UK tour in September. The band have now finished recording their album and it is due to be released in April 2015 with a launch gig at Liverpool Bumper on April 3rd.

The album "These Wall Hold…" mixes huge shattering guitars, epic vocal hooks, and beefy riffs into an intense rhythmic yet ambient wall of sound.
