DRAMATYME PRODUCTION
WARREN BUIE

I would like to introduce myself; my name is Warren Buie a.k.a. “Warren B”. I was born and raised in Chicago, IL. My parents wanted the best for my brothers and I so we moved quite often. We lived in Africa for a year where my younger brother was born and moved back to Chicago. After the city life we lived in Hazel Crest, IL. for a year, lived in Bellwood, IL. In the late 70’s, my younger brother and I attended Roosevelt Jr. High School and in the eighties we attended Proviso West High School in Hillside, IL. After graduating we lived in Downers Grove, IL. for 3 years and resided in Naperville, IL.

Growing up I was influence and taught by my mom (Lenetta Buie) to play piano when I was 9 years old. As I got older I started to appreciate the music and the grooves of R&B, Hip Hop, Pop, Jazz, House Music and Classic Rock. I was all across the board. In the late eighties I became strongly passionate to DJ and work with production equipment (Yamaha, Korg, Roland and Casio) etc. My younger brother (Judah Buie) was an inspiration when he would DJ at all the house parties in Bellwood. My dad
(Landar Buie Jr., R.I.P.) made sure that we had all the equipment and resources to record our ideas as a teenager. My closest and dearest friends and my older brother started a Hip-Hop group called “Deadly Combination”. (Eric Collins, Anthony Buckner, Gregory Buie and Sean McCintosh) and since then we had been in and out of different recording studios.

Today I'm on a quest to discover new ways to produce great music and funky grooves with heavy, edgy and smooth rhythms drums and percussions. My ingredients is to layer instruments with heavy, progressive, light and warm melodic chords and catchy bass lines to make my music move you. In the past I've produced and recorded Hip Hop and R&B groups for a independent label called “Throw Down Entertainment” in Aurora, IL. for 8 years and performing live shows around the city. I have gained a lot of knowledge, experience, respect and exposure producing, mixing and mastering sound, it was a great inspiration for us when we would perform at shows and to see how the fans react and responded to our songs.

I have completed four albums with “Throw Down Entertainment” (Mid West Compilation, 3rd Degree, Ricochet and
2 Lives For The Price of 1 by Lyrical Hoffa ) each CD had 12 songs that was co-produced by Anthony Buckner a.k.a.
Tony Fingerz, artist development by Eric Collins a.k.a. “E Strange” and produced by Warren Buie a.k.a.”Severe” completed in 2005.

The producers that have influenced me on my journey are:

Swiss Beats Paul Hardcastle Scott Starch DJ Jam Master Jay (R.I.P)
Timberland Teddy Ridley Dr. Dre Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis
Peter Gabriel Quincy Jones Rodney Jerkins

I admire their dedication to making great music that is new, fresh, soulful and creative. I can realistically say that I have found a sound and style that works for me, I call it Urban Orchestrated Music, and my friends call me a Hip Knock Lunatic. I quote that “professionalism, hard work, staying focus and a good attitude” is the key to success.
