The Jazz underground is a collection of Midwestern muicians specialiizing in original music and fresh performances of Jazz classics, funk, and fusion. Led by Dennis McPartland ( www.dennismcpartland.com) and David Sharp. The group or its members has backed such Jazz luminaries such as Bobby Watson, Claudio Roditi, Kerry Stayer, Emil Vicklicky, Richie Cole, Louie Bellson, Steve Allen, Paul Smith and Joe Lovano, Michael Daugherty, Pat Daugherty.

This is the tenth CD dateing back over the past 20 years for Dennis McPartland with various styles of Jazz and rock and blues. Dennis has been a Performer since 1967, working and performing through high school and college - U of IOWA, where he recieved a BA ( sociolgy/ music 1977) and MA ( percussion performance 1993). He has taken lessons /studied with Jim Chapin, Dom Fomlamo, Peter Erskine, Tom Davis,John Perrett, Bobby Sanabria, Ed shauhassy.

Dennis played in one of the first jazz bands at his high school ( member of fine arts hall of fame)CR WASH
