At Rock Creek Hollow, the Willie and Martin Handcart Company was stranded. The Riverton Wyoming Stake invited my band to perform for their celebration of the Second Rescue. When we played, "Come Come Ye Saints," I remember seeing children dressed in pioneer clothing singing and holding hands as they walked over a ridge. Performing a few hymns and songs in the middle of Wyoming, as people danced and celebrated the "Second Recue" is a picture I won't forget. Although the way we sing some pioneer hymns has changed, my friends and I play old hymns as we feel them.
