Chasing Rainbows
Chasing Rainbows is the third studio album by Heart and Feather, a project created by Emma-Clare Bussell who works under the artist name. Emma-Clare is a fifth generation descendent from a farming family in the south west of Western Australia, and was raised on a range of musical influences including folk and trad music.
Initially recorded with David Hyams at Miles to Go Studio in Fremantle and featuring Hyams’ guitar work throughout the songs, the songs were further edited at Fur Real Studio in Yallingup with Sean Lillico on drums and keys and guest artist Geordie Batey on viola.
Emma-Clare wrote the songs on guitar and ukulele over a period of a year, telling stories of hope and fortitude. The waltzing ballad Moonstone is about strong women in music like Joni Mitchell and Janis Joplin, Cowgirl is a nod to the redemptive power of love and Crow is a swirling cathartic experience on healing from serious illness.
