W. A. Mozart: Flute Concerti in G - D & C Major

W. A. Mozart: Flute Concerti in G - D & C Major

The Mozart Flute Concerti were composed in 1777 and 1778. The G major and the D major were commissioned by a Dutch doctor, Ferdinand de Jean. It was well known that Mozart hated the trumpet -- flute and the harp. There is a good chance these works never would have been composed other than via a commission. Regarding the actual recording it was a joy making music with Virtuosi de Los Angeles and Maria Casale Harp.
In addition to creating and conducting the orchestra, I also composed the cadenzas for both the G major and the D major. We used the Reinecke Cadenzas for the Flute and Harp concerto. I hope music lovers and flutists will enjoy this new recording of the Mozart Flute Concerti.
