
When It All Comes Down
Two Years since the debut CD ‘Times of Drought’ Coyote returns with their bold, sophomore effort ‘When It All Comes Down’ and the differences are apparent from track one. Principle songwriters Marc Gartman (Two Many Banjos) and Jerree Small (Southwire) contribute seven songs each but this time they are joined by their new band; Matt Mobley (Two Many Banjos) on upright bass, Bryan ‘Lefty’ Johnson (Black Eyed Snakes) on percussion and Derek Rolondo (The Tisdales) on drums. The music was recorded live to tape at Sparta Sound in early November 2009 with Rich Mattson (Ol’ Yeller, The Tisdales) Producing the set.
Simply put, the music this time around is much more eclectic. With influences ranging from Califone, Gillian Welch and Will Oldham, Coyote wanted to expand their pallet and make a more diverse sounding record.
