"'For I know the plans I have for you,' says the Lord. "Plans to prosper and not harm you. Plans to give you a future and a hope" (Jeremiah 29:11). This was the verse I clung to for eighteen months while battling serious sickness and fatigue for no medical reason. I was forced to surrender my collegiate volleyball career and take a new path, begin a new journey.
Since I was not allowed to exercise, I channeled my energy into my next best outlet: music. I began to write and play guitar as I poured my frustration out in prayer to God.
"Why me?" "Why is this happening?" "When will it end?" Some days it was hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but all along God had a plan. Life is a journey. It took an unexpected turn, but looking back it was that much more beautiful to see how God worked and how everything happened for a reason.
