Moon is an indie/prog/psych power trio from Chicago; heavy yet melodic, complex yet spacious, dark yet soaring; echo-laden chiming guitar, melodic post-rock bass, propulsive drumming with shifting time signatures, and haunting, ethereal vocals. Sonic reference points would include: Sunny Day Real Estate, Radiohead, Porcupine Tree, Circa Survive, Russian Circles, and Mogwai.

The album, Finding and Losing the Light, includes the two-song suite, Finding the Light / Losing the Light, lasting ten minutes in total. Other songs included the meditative Wolf River, the anthemic Souvenirs, and the blistering Sabbathian crunch of Neda. What characterizes a Moon song is that it never ends like it begins – intros, break downs, outros, codas, all lead the listener on a journey. This is all topped by David Azizinamini’s arching, ethereal vocals, reminiscent of singers like Anthony Green, Perry Farrell, and Stevie Nicks.
