Originally recorded during his formative years with the Natural Mystic Ensemble, “Toward the One,” is a perfect showcase of Shimshai’s multiple array of musical talent. He can be found throughout the album performing effortlessly on Rhodes piano, ukulele, flute, melodica, classical and electric guitars, all the while blessing up Creation with his sweet angelic voice. Still, it is the honesty that shines through the music that makes his message more of a universal prayer than a simple song, thus exposing his purest gift.
