Inner Onwriter
LANKY is the moniker adopted by Wayne, NJ's Frank Stabile, who spent the summer of 2002 creating his solo debut CD Inner Onwriter. The hook laden pop record, recorded mostly at home, benefits from a `whatever it takes' approach.
"There wasn't a plan other than committing the song ideas to tape. Most times I was the only guy in the room, so I would just add and try ideas until it felt right. The bottom line was if it felt good at the end of the day, it stayed."
What stayed are nine songs of personal reflection that are as confident as they are vulnerable.
Inner Onwriter was mixed by Patrick Thrasher. Produced by Lanky and Wayne Dorell. Released nationally in January of 2003.
In addition to regular performances in New York and New Jersey, Lanky is currently touring the Southeast and Midwest U.S. as well as Canada.
PRESS:
"The ten tunes are reminiscent of John Mayer, and Sting with a dose of Jeff Buckley, but the album has an
irresistible innocence and longing that is distinctly Lanky's own." -Performing
