Jiyo Shyam Lala

Jiyo Shyam Lala

Traditional songs of India are always able to pull at the heart's strings. With Jiyo Shyam Lala, Shashika has proved that with every step she gets better and better. These songs commonly sung in Vraja [India] are all about that little boy who plays HIs flute and tenders the cows - Krishna!

Music arranger Ajay Singhania has done justice to the music by maintaining its sweetness in a simple format. The result being that the listener is simply drawn into the land of Vraja with all its sweetness.

Widely traveled to more than twenty-five countries, Shashika's voice with its unique timbre is her passport to much acclaim. She has had the honor of performing for a select audience at the United Nations and receiving overwhelming applause. The late world renowned Pakistani singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Saheb heard her sing in Mumbai and was all praise for her talent and voice which he described as ‘steeped in devotion’.

Her love for music propels her to experiment with different styles; this interest in learning and honing her skills has given her a versatility non-pareil. Commercially, she has lent her voice to devotional, pop, movies, semi-classical and techno compositions.
