TRACKLIST: Alexis Cabrera - Rasponcitos (Fer BR Remix) (6:50) The experimental pop edge of the original Rasponcitos' has been refined into a tectonic tech workout by rising Mindshake star, Fer BR. Inspired beat programming and muscular drums clash with dissonant sound design and swashes of mind-bending effects, augmented by Alexis Cabrera's woozy tweaked-out vocals. Alexis Cabrera - Crapeletti (Sean Random Remix) (8:55) Colombian DJ and producer Sean Random streamlines Alexis Cabrera's Crapeletti', adapting the slow burning funky bass of the original into a grooving tech house tool. The classic brass and horn sounds utilized to full effect in the original are now muted and used as a subtle counterpoint to the baited breath vocal effects and cleverly applied synth drops. Sean's darker rhythm palette is enhanced with snake-like brass and ethnic flourishes at key drops and track transitions which pushes the dancefloor into a moodier direction. Alexis Cabrera - Ocean Between (Barem Remix) (7:27) M_nus luminary, Barem, returns to Mindshake with an energetic take of Alexis Cabrera's title track, Ocean Between.' Underpinned by subaqueous bass and shuffling percussion, the sultry female vocal is panned, flipped and distorted in every direction as the centerpiece of this tech house floor filler. Alexis Cabrera - Syncing Hearts (Ronan Portela & Ariel Rodz Remix) (7:18) Mindshake's upstart duo Ronan Portela and Ariel Rodz twist Alexis Cabrera's Syncing Hearts' into a trippier direction. The bouncing kicks and jacking groove are intensified by crazy reverberating hats and expertly slurred psychoactive enhanced vocal samples. The mix is dominated with freaky atmospheric flourishes, but never loses momentum. A track suited for both the afterhour spot and primetime play. Alexis Cabrera - Stay for a While (John Lagora Remix) (7:27) With an immediate sense of urgency, Mindshake mainstay John Lagora warps Stay for a While' into a darker journey. Hypnotic synth leads submerge Alexis Cabrera's vocals as the rolling bass thunders below. Intelligent percussive accents bounce off the rhythm, until the vocal refrain peaks from the depths. The track bristles with dread and breathes excitement. Alexis Cabrera - Postcard in Peru (Lorenzo Bartoletti Remix) (6:44) Primed for peak time play, the pounding rhythms and intricate tribal percussion of Italian Lorenzo Bartoletti's Postcard in Peru' remix could run on and on. These core elements are complemented by subtle infectious key changes that earworm their way through hypnotic vocal chants. Keeping energy levels high, the track's simplicity allows for deadly mix combinations in the right hands. Alexis Cabrera - Ninety Free (Dela Remix) (6:39) US-based Mindshake recording artist, Dela, makes his second appearance on his core label home. Dela's mix is a master class in reduction, distilling down the core elements of the original; the thick atmosphere dissipated to a fine mist; the central vocal theme teased into a mental after hours vibe. Intense spatial effects pierce through the mix as the meticulous percussion, bouncing bass and sophisticated drums do the business. Alexis Cabrera - Los Javieles (Skoozbot Remix) (6:00) Keeping the psychedelic sound design of the original while discarding and reinterpreting the overt piano elements into a layered bed of pings and glitches, Brian Connelly, aka US based artist Skoozbot, stays true to his M_nus roots by providing an uptempo minimal tech heavy interpretation. While a heady delight, the percussive static bursts and deep bass grooves keep the track's focus on the dancefloor.
