Silhouette
For Stephen Souza, and the millions of fans around the world who love the Crown Prince of Reggae, Dennis Emmanuel Brown, honoring his memory is every day; not just his birthday or the anniversary of his passing.
Today is a day of honor for our Crown Prince! Stephen stepped in to the recording booth, and with the endorsement of his engineer and Junior Ewart from Brooklyn’s Ruff Stuff band (whom Stephen performs with on a regular basis), re-recorded the classic Lover’s Rock chune from Dennis; “Silhouette.”
The song, and all its special meaning comes through in every note. Stephen spent years with Dennis as his opening act and sometimes background vocalist, and was greatly influenced by him. As Stephen says, “recreating this song was special. This takes me back to the days when Dancehall was sweet and people danced with each other. That’s where we need to get back to.” Stephen believes in Reggae’s foundation so much that his new album, The Reggae Gentlemen, will feature this and other tracks to bring back that vibe!
For the UK massive who know about the blue light and rubbing wall paper off the wall, you’re going to spin this chune, and for all lovers of good music, you’re going to give this chune support!
