Fragga Ranks burst onto the scene with tracks like “Hug Mi Up” for Robbie Shakespeare and Danny Browne’s Powermatic label during the early nineties. Right from the start, his big, expressive tone of voice singled him out as a contender and it’s a mystery why such early promise hasn’t reaped dividends until now.

“Turn Me On” is a one-rhythm album of his own productions, led by the cajoling, yet commanding title track, voiced by Fragga himself. The beats are dancehall-friendly but just as likely to attract the attention of club DJs thanks to a bright, uncluttered mix and judicious use of strings FX.

A sultry “Hot Gal” by Frankie Paul and the tortured “on My Mind” from Sizzla, on which he raps, as well as deejays, heads the celebrity input.
