Stop Drop & Roll
Stop Drop & Roll is a collaboration between musicians, lovers of music, each adding their own dynamic to the original material. SDR brings traditional bluegrass, rock, classical, a little funk, reggae, and a lot of jamband backgrounds together to create an energetic musical experience.
The sounds of John Prine, The Grateful Dead, Bob Marley, Robert Earl Keen, John Hartford, and Vassar Clements are all part of the Stop Drop & Roll sound. A fan once called it "Happy Grass". Probably because newgrass bands such as Leftover Salmon and Yonder Mountain String Band have had their impact on SDR too.
The original songs are fun, but it is definitely music with a message. Songs like Carrie Nation and Walk With Me (Just For a While) ask the listener to look twice and enjoy the moment. Their show inspires people to think, hug each other, and mostly, to dance.
