Elias has been involved with hip hop for years. Growing up in an inner city environment in LA county listening to the pioneering hip hop radio, KDAY, head nodding to hip on mixtapes, and working on break dance moves were all the beginnings to his love of hip hop.

Hip hop was just a part of the neighborhood. It was the voice of a community that was poor and otherwise had no voice to raise. Elias was influenced heavily by the political voice that began to emerge in the late 1980's and early 1990's. As he entered his teens and young adulthood, hip hop grew a conscience at the same time that he was growing his. This conscience inspired Elias to emcee and speak on what he saw around him.

Elias became a community activist and servant. Hip hop was a huge love but took a backseat to his service to the community through mentoring, tutoring, and political action programs.
