The Chesterfields-EP

The Chesterfields-EP

After releasing their debut album "Henry Street Soul" back in 2001, The Chesterfields have been touring and receiving praise from critics (like Billboard magazine) and musicians (such as Dr. John and Rob Thomas) as a revolutionary sound in American music. Billboard magazine has described the group as "...having their own brand of soul with elements of classic R&B, Rock, Blues, Jazz and Pop" and Sharrard as "...one of the best Blues/R&B guitarists in the country." The group has been based in New York for the past three years, playing at some of the City's most prestigious venues such as Joe's Pub, S.O.B.s, The Bitter End and Makor. The Chesterfields have also played clubs, theaters and festivals throughout the Midwest, opening for such groups as Dr. John and Midnight Oil.

Fusing R&B, Soul, Rock, Jazz and Blues, the band continues to push their creative boundaries with this brand new effort. The Chesterfields brand new EP is a taste of their full-length sophomore effort that is currently in the making, comprised of all new material. These tracks feature original music produced and arranged by The Chesterfields: Scott Sharrard (lead and backing vocals, electric and acoustic guitars and B-3 organ) and Sean Dixon (electric bass, and key's). This release also features special guests; Charlie Drayton on drums (B-52's, Chaka Khan, Keith Richards), Brian Charette on B-3 organ and key's (Joni Mitchell, Lou Donaldson) and Jim Dooley (master film score arranger for Hans Zimmer and many others) doing synth/string arrangements on track 2. Mixing master Charlie Martinez (Keith Richards, Rob Thomas, Mick Jagger) rounds out the creative team as co-producer and engineer.

You can also hear a recent collaboration Scott and Sean did with P. Diddy on the L.Y.F.E. Project album (Bad Boy 2003), a benefit for the Jackie Robinson foundation. The group is also re-mixing songs from the EP with underground hip-hop DJ and producer Twilight Tone (DJ for Common and De La Soul) for radio and club releases.
