Jimmy Williams, began playing guitar at the age of 13. His formal years began with lessons from his father, who began showing Jimmy various licks and barre chords. It wasn't long before he discovered Eddie Van Halen and performed "Eruption" in his high school talent show during his sophomore year. A few years later Jimmy happened upon a new discovery, a young Swedish virtuoso by the name of Yngwie J. Malmsteen. At this point Jimmy began feverishly practicing 6 hours a day to get his chops up to par with the flood of Shrapnel style neoclassical guitarists that began to flood the scene.

In college, while obtaining his B.S. in Electrical engineering, Jimmy played in jazz big bands, combos, and studied classical / flamenco guitar.

In 1994 Jimmy was selected to be featured in Guitar Magazine's "Resume Column" and moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music. After playing in numerous L.A. bands, Jimmy took a two-year hiatus from music to train with many Ultimate Fighting Championship fighters, includi
