Phoenix is Greg Porée’s fourth studio album and most suitably bears the motto: “Like the Phoenix rose, let the music lift you as well!”

With six original compositions and three exquisite interpretations of jazz standards, this uplifting and melodic jazz album grew from Greg Porée´s desire to record a CD that was focused on featuring the acoustic guitar – his much loved main instrument.

As a composer, he regarded his creative challenge in getting as much variety as possible, both in sound and style. He went from the ukulele to a grand piano, African djembe to a jazz drum set. The music possesses elements of funk, Latin, cool jazz and calypso, all this with the guitar being the common thread.
