BOUNCE connects Bern's charismatic sound, the earthy sound of Stuttgart, New York's jazz tradition and Berlin's freedom. There is a lot of friction and boldness in Bounce's music. The band is deliberately omitting a harmony instrument and explores the space gained from this. Lyrical, passionate, improvised and composed duo passages are accompanied by vibrant, atmospheric grooves.
The 2013 Zurich Kantonalbank Jazz Award winner flirts with pop, sometimes with drum 'n' bass, but before the listener can settle in BOUNCE is already on its way to a new direction.
"At the first listen BOUNCE sounded very strong and compact, intense, using rocking beats and vamps in contrast with quiet textures colorful and evocative, interesting forms and a very clear and focused delivery, no wasted notes, I loved it.
After a second listen of the same tunes, I understood better why I enjoyed the first listen so much, this time the enjoyment was deeper, the tunes resonated clearly in my memory and made a lot of sense, great harmony, original melodic statements, stories being told, all of it with beautiful sounds from each instrumentalist, and a great variety of colors, a real band with a strong identity, lots of imagination and impeccable taste."

"The music is wild! Ranging from quirky conversational interplay between the horns to hard rock-ish, eclectic chaos to sweetly delivered classical-ish lines, all backed up by highly proficient players who clearly love making music together.
This is a band and I am a fan.
I can’t wait to hear how things will develop over the years to come and I can only fantasize about how thrilling they will be to hear live." (Ingrid Jensen)
"BOUNCE seamlessly combines a sense of freedom and arrangement, composition and improvisation, to such a level that you don't even notice where one ands and the other begins. All that's left is music."
