Castelnuovo-Tedesco's brilliant guitar Sonata sounds like a natural on marimba! The other central work here is Robert Aldridge's entire "From My Little Island" – a favorite among marimba players. This CD includes two "bonus tracks": "Misty" and "A Night in Tunisia" are archival, unedited performances by Zeltsman in her mid-20s. "Black Velvet," composed for and dedicated to Nancy's black Lab, Mochi, includes him snoring and breathing (which creates a fascinating extra rhythmic layer to the piece)!
