Listen to what happens when music industry veterans and emerging talent come together via the Internet to create music for the pure joy of its own special magic. Despite having never met in person these 13 international teams set a benchmark for how music production may well be redefined in the future.

It's October 2003, and legendary, anonymous recording engineer/blogger Mixerman has come up with a great idea to help kick off a new Internet music forum. The concept was to form groups of musicians, songwriters, mixers, mastering engineers and producers and engage them in the collabrative process of taking songs from their very beginnings to fully realised, high calibre productions. Within a couple days of its announcement, over 100 people had signed up to participate. The results were musically impressive and in terms of production experiments, staggering.

Now in its 3rd iteration as represented by this compilation, CaPE is a vibrant collaboration in internet audio Production, with the ensuing whole much greater than just the sum of the initial parts. The project now takes place about once every 9 months, and is thoughtfully coordinated by independent producer E. Shaun Russell. Look for CaPE IV to be just around the corner. As for CaPE III, Yogi Berra might have said it best - you can hear how great it is just by listening to it.
