
Annelies Burmeister
Annelies Burmeister began her theater career as an actress in the Low German stage in Schwerin. From 1951 to 1956 she studied at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt Weimar singing with Helene Jung [2]. In 1956 she made her stage debut in The Tales of Hoffmann at the Municipal Theatre of Erfurt, after she was hired at the National Theatre, before moving in 1959 at the Dresden State Opera. From 1962, she sang at the Berlin State Opera, and gave guest performances in major European opera houses. At the same time, she worked as a soloist in concert and oratorio performances. Great success in 1966 had their appearances at the Bayreuth Festival in the years to 1967. Guest engagements have taken her to the Vienna State Opera, the Hamburg State Opera, was the Grand Opéra Paris, but also in Amsterdam, Prague, Stockholm and London, they successfully [3].
