Yvonne Fay Minton CBE (C) (born 4 December 1938) is an Australian opera singer. She is variously billed as a soprano, mezzo-soprano or contralto.\ Yvonne Minton was born in Sydney, New South Wales.[1] She studied voice on a scholarship at the New South Wales Conservatorium of Music.[1] She won the National Eisteddfod in Canberra, as well as number of other singing competitions. She became one of the country s leading contraltos, often appearing on radio and television and with the Sydney and Queensland orchestras.
