(The innovative use of the cello by the Beatles in some of their arrangements was a strong influence on young Friesen.) His work with a diverse roster of artists over the years has further expanded his scope. He has recorded and performed with everyone from Dave Brubeck and Anthony Davis to Scott Cossu and Steven Halpern.
