R&B Singer/Songwriter Mykel dedicates his heart and soul to music. The Massachusetts native grew up in a small city south of Boston, with a dream that is now closer than ever. The singer/songwriter knows how important it is to own your craft as a musician, and he is doing just that. Although singing and writing music is his first love, his ability to arrange, engineer, and mix his own records is what sets him apart from other artists. After high school Mykel’s ambition and appreciation grew greater for music. While in college, Mykel and three childhood friends formed a R&B/Pop group by the name of Image. While recording and touring New England for three and a half years, the group split ways to explore their own musical abilities. Humbled and motivated by the experience, Mykel turned his focus on earning respect as a solo artist. After receiving his degree in 2007 at the University of Bridgewater, Mykel teamed back with ex-band members to form a writing team by the name of FinePrint Music Group. While collaborating and writing for other artists for two years, Mykel and FinePrint aimed their focus on creating Mykel’s debut album “Love, Sex, & Mykel” set for release January 2011. For a year span, Mykel crafted a specific sound for his debut release. Combining love and relationships, with passion and love making. Recording over thirty songs in the process for his release, Mykel broke it down to nine songs to complete his EP. During the recording process of his album, Mykel has been no stranger to the stage. Opening for artist such as Ryan Leslie and Bobby Valentino has been one of his proud accomplishments as an upcoming artist. Now, Mykel is awaiting his chance to break into the music industry. With his heartfelt lyrics and soulful sound, Mykel wants people to fall in love and become a part of his music.
