American music has taken many forms in the past century. One American musical genre has transcended time, space, and culture - jazz. This particular genre is a sonic, interactive reflection of the ideologies that are dearest to many Americans (i.e. democracy, unity in the midst of diversity, freedom of expression, the promotion for innovation, challenging the status quo, love for God, and so forth). The beauty of jazz is that it is malleable, adaptable, and ever evolving; it is an art form that has garnered tremendous in embedding itself with other musical genres, and enriching other musics by allotting musicians a chance to engage in spontanious freedom of expressions and interactions that resembles the interactions of humans in daily life.
